Baptism dress

I am finally getting around to updating my blog! So much has happened since May. I finished Brookly Gardner's baptism dress and she looked beautiful in it. If you haven't seen the pictures on Nicole's blog check them out. She is truly a princess.

Porter graduated from kindergarten. He loves school and has had quite the time adjusting to summer break, but I think he is starting to settle in a bit.

The kids started swimming lessons. Porter gets to swim without me this year and is loving the freedom. Becca and I take a Parent & infant class together and later after dinner Avonell and I take a "shrimps" class together. It has been fun to get to spend individual time with the girls, and see how excited Porter is about learning new stuff. He told me he invented a new kind of floating yesterday called a "monster float".

My mom and I have taken on weeding the back yard this week. Surprisingly we are probably 85% done already. My hope is that we can get a swing set out there this weekend. The hard part is that I am not only allergic to the dog but I am also allergic to the weeds that I pull! So I come in after we are done with swollen and scratched up arms. Benadryl here I come!!

We have also gotten to go to the high school for free lunches. We did this last summer and loved it. The kids get a free lunch with everything including a main dish, fruit, veggies, and all the chocolate milk they can drink (or that I will allow them to drink ;) It has been a great way to break up the day a bit. We get up, do chores, play/weed the back yard, go to swimming lessons, eat lunch, come home and take naps. By the time all of that is done Daddy is almost home!

The kids started the summer reading program at the library. They get a prize for every 10 books they read and after they have read 40 books they get free Diamondbacks baseball tickets! Porter has been pretty thrilled that he can read his own books this year without any help. He is so cute, he's starting to be very animated when he reads and it cracks me up!
