Drum roll please!!

We found out yesterday that Rappleye family baby #4 is most positively a GIRL!! I'm so excited to know. Things get really exciting around here when the gender is made known, but I'll get back to that in a minute.

I was really hesitant to tell Porter. He was so set on having a brother. I didn't want to be the one to break his heart! So we sat all of the kids on the couch and Drew broke the news to them. Avonell jumped for joy, Becca is still in denial that she will not be the baby of the family and really couldn't care less, but Porter ran from the room crying. Drew went after him and it took a good 15 minutes before he was calmed down. He said things like, "I was praying so hard for a boy" and "no one ever wants to play boy stuff they only want to play princess". Drew told him they could start having guys night. So tonight marks the first official guys night. The girls will go to bed as usual and Drew and Porter will get pizza, build a fort, and watch a boys only movie! I hope they let me in the room long enough to take some pictures!

I woke this morning thinking "I have so much to do!" The girls need to be moved into Porter's room because it's much bigger and Porter needs to be moved into the girls room but before that can happen they both have to be painted and cleaned up quite a bit. Porter saw me making my list of things to get done and he said, "I can't wait until our baby comes, but I still remember that it is a girl". I told him what that meant about the room situation and he got pretty excited. He asked if we could start painting it today and I told him that daddy wants us to finish the bathroom first. The next thing I know my sweet boy is in the bathroom with a putty knife getting the rest of the lenolium and glue off of the floor so we can tile it. I think he's finding out that there are some pirks to being the only boy!

Comming soon: pictures of spring break, Easter, and our first family camping trip since before Avonell was born! Yeah, we've been very busy!

I'm so excited for you! It's so fun to find out what you're having. Makes the baby seem more real. How fun to have another girl.
I'm glad Porter found something postitive out of it. Redoing the rooms will be fun. Sounds like a big project, but fun. Let me know if you need any help. I could watch your kids for you.
